"Lost" is not a thing!

Whenever I set out on an adventure, whether it be a short hike or a trip across the country, I really do start with a plan. Well, at least some general broad strokes. But, for me a plan is merely a suggestion, and it can quickly change. I have been known to turn down an unfamiliar road to get a better glimpse of the view or to follow cryptic signs to discover a historical marker or beautiful building. Asking a local where to have the best meal, or driving way out of my way to visit a local winery provide common detours.

Discovering that I am not where I thought I'd be is a bit of a life theme for me. Finding myself in a place that I didn't necessarily plan to go is often the highlight of my adventure. This is likely when I discover a favorite place or make the acquaintance of a new friend.

Honestly, I don't believe that any turn is a wrong one, or that any change in the plan was a waste of time. There is always something new to be discovered if you have the curiosity to see it.
